Free Online Meal Planning Workshop

Meal Plan and…  Save Money. Get Healthier. Sleep Better. Help the Planet. Save Time.

These are bold claims – that you could expect to gain such rewards from one simple habit. I would like to show you how it’s possible and how you can make it all work for you and your household.

As we get ramped up with a new year and dream of fresh starts, many of us have similar goals: Getting healthy or losing weight. Saving money or spending smarter. Reducing stress and sleeping better. Or maybe more altruistic goals, like being less wasteful and kinder to the planetl. I would like to share with you a skill that will get you well on your way to making the most of 2022 – Meal Planning! Exciting right? Stick with me here – with surprisingly little effort you can master meal planning and see some real progress on your new year’s resolutions.

With my hosts at SPUD.ca, and joined by Carla Pellegrini, Director of Food Stash Foundation, we will finally crack the code on how to meal plan and how to make it stick.
- Decide what to make
- Determine how much should you make
- Plan to prep or batch cook
- Simplify with meal themes or less ingredients
- Take advantage of sales, subscriptions, bulk and seasonal foods
- Use tools that save the food you make
- Rescue the food you have on hand

Low Waste is the New No Waste

Event Follow-Up

Thank you to all the Waste Reduction Warriors that attended the work shop. You can download some of the handouts we spoke about:

The weight of climate change and pollution is not something any one of us can carry on our individual shoulders. It needs to be a team effort with each of us doing what we can, when we can. Don’t underestimate the cumulative benefit of small changes, or simple substitutions.

In the spirit of Waste Reduction Week, Spud.ca will be hosting a workshop where you can take a look in my home and see my version of Low Waste in “real life”.

I am not doing it all “right” or probably even halfway there - but I do know that my attempts at low-waste living are worth the effort, and often really no effort at all. This is no Pinterest-perfect or Instagram-worthy setting - this is a single mom of 3 boys, an entrepreneur and design-challenged zero-waste wannabe that has been trying things out for the past decade. And a few things have worked out really well. I believe I have tricks and lessons learned that will help you get further faster in your waste reduction endeavours.

I hope to send you away inspired with some new ideas for reasonable actions or choices you can incorporate in your own home, your own way, into your own busy life.

Can’t wait to share :)
